2006 Army Knowledge Awards Program Winners Announced

The Army Knowledge Awards (AKA) Program, sponsored by the Army Chief Information Office, provides recognition for outstanding examples of initiatives that exploit knowledge management tools and promote Army-wide knowledge sharing. These initiatives might be enhanced collaborative processes that improve warfighter or organizational decision-making, learning, and development. Alternatively, they might incorporate technology and re-engineering to achieve process transformation, such as improving operational effectiveness and the flow of products, services, and knowledge to the user in a real time, critical method. These enterprise solutions are applicable at the MACOM, functional community, or Army level.

This year's winners are:

  • Knowledge Transformation Initiative: The eNova Program, US Army Armament Research, Development Engineering Center (ARDEC), Knowledge Management Office
  • Enterprise/Cross-functional Solution: 59th Signal Battalion SigNet Data Management Zone, 59th Signal Battalion
  • e-Army Initiative: Wireless LAN Type Accreditation, Project Manager, Defense Communications and Army Switched Systems (PM DCASS)
  • Knowledge Management in Battle Command: ABC E SoS Test Portal, Program Executive Office for Command Control Communications Tactical (PEO C3T).
