AMC Fellows Program

The AMC Fellows Program is a five-year program designed to build a multifunctional, mobile cadre of highly qualified personnel for AMC. Fellows provide the contemporary skills and practical experience needed to infuse the Army Civilian Corps with the agility required to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing environment. AMC Fellows are full-time federal civilian employees and are paid full salary during all phases of the program. AMC is seeking individuals who:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Systems Analysis, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, Quality Control Engineering, Safety Engineering, or Statistics. Coursework must include a non-survey statistics course or one or more calculus courses.
  • Have an undergraduate GPA of 2.95 or higher in their last 60 hours (for engineering graduates only).
  • Are willing to move and take on new challenges.

Each Fellow selects a primary and secondary career path specialization. Individual Development Plans, follow-on assignments, and additional training are designed to build cross-functional expertise in several areas. Participants will learn how to handle economic analysis problems involving the time value of money and discount factors. Advanced topics include the formulation and solution of mathematical and integer programming models, decision analysis, and production planning and control.

Fellows enter the Program at the GS-7 level. Promotions normally occur annually. Upon completion of the 5-year program, Fellows can expect to advance to the GS-13 level.

Classes are held at AMC's Logistics Leadership Center in Texarkana, TX and Texas A&M University-Texarkana. After receiving graduate degrees in business, Fellows can bid to be relocated to one of the following AMC locations to complete their rotational assignments:

  • Fort Belvoir, VA
  • Fort Monmouth, NJ
  • Huntsville, AL
  • Warren, MI
  • Rock Island, IL
  • Fort Huachuca, AZ.
